Panasonic has joined the droid craze with it's second handheld from  the popular Eluga series, the much-awaited Panasonic Eluga Power, meaning with your BackCountry Navigator software, you can turn it into a Panasonic Eluga Power Android GPS today.
Panasonic has outfitted the ELUGA Power with a 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixel HD LCD display. Despite its large screen, the bezel around the display has been minimized, making it easier to handle than other smartphones with 5-plus-inch screens. The ELUGA Power sports a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 8GB of internal storage and support for microSD cards up to 32GB in capacity. Like the other Panasonic ELUGA, the Power meets IP57 ratings for water and dustproofing, so you don't have to worry about it getting ruined in the rain. It also has an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, a front-facing camera, and Near Field Communications support.
The Android handset is powered by a 1GHz dual core OMAP 4430 processor and although according to earlier reports that the device runs Android ice Cream Sandwich, if you look closely at the specs card in the footage you will note that the device actually runs a skinned version of Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread, but one can assume it will gain an update to Android 4.0 at some point.
