Virgin Mobile it appears there is a new smartphone headed your way in the form of the LG Optimus Net although when the device hits Sprint and Virgin Mobile it will be known at the LG Optimus Elite.

The LG Optimus Elite’s model which has already passed the FCC and other certification bodies are the LS696 for Sprint and the VM696 for Virgin Mobile whilst the model number for the global LG Optimus Net is P692.

NFC function the LG Optimus Elite delivers standard entry level to mid level features that include a 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen, a 5 megapixel main camera, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage, an 800MHz processor and microSD expansion, and presumably running Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Sharp Aquos SH-12C

The latest feature people want to see on smartphones is 3D and with devices like the LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D soon to hit the market, they now have a new player to contend with in the shape of the Gingerbread totting Sharp Aquos SH-12C Phone, featuring 3D and dual cameras.

This 3D-capable Android handset for NTT's Docomo network was imported from its native Japan by a Hong Kong resident who was also attending the epic trade show. Like the HTC EVO 3D, this device features twin cameras and a glasses-free

The Sharp Aquos SH-12C Phone is not a name that is going to roll of peoples tongues easily. However, with dual cameras sitting nicely on its back that go all the way up to 8 megapixels (compared to that of the HTC EVO 3D‘s 5 megapixels), and the power punching 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255 chip locked away inside, it is certainly going to be a name to remember.

There’s HDMI on this thing too, so we’re wondering if you’ll be able to output to a 3D capable HDTV, because the screen on the device itself doesn’t display 3D content. Oh and of course there’s GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, and everything else you’d expect a modern smartphone. It weighs 138 grams and measures 64 mm x 127 mm x 11.9 mm, and it bulges up to 13.8 mm in certain parts.
